If an individual or a very few people has access to the camera then this system is called closed circuit transmission and the camera's that work on these system are known as Closed circuit television camera(CCTV camera).  

Types of CCTV camera:-

• Dome camera's.

           These camera's are dome shaped.Most of them are plastic bodied and hence mostly used for indoor purposes.

• Bullet Camera's.

             Most of them are tube shaped and are metal bodied, therefore used in outdoor purposes.

• Pan–tilt–zoom camera(PTZ Camera).

            These are camera which can zoom at a specific object.So that these are used in delicate areas where high security is needed.

• Day-night Camera.

           These are camera's that takes high resolution footage in day time but also takes high resolution black and white footage at night time.These have infrared rays which helps to capture high resolution videos at night time.

• Infrared Camera's.

         These camera has infrared LED's on all the sides of the lens.These LED's emits infrared light.So even in low light takes high resolution footage.

Three important part of CCTV camera's are:-

• Camera:-

           It is used as a recording medium,which records the footage.

• Digital video recorder(DVR).

          It is used for transfer of footage from the camera to the monitor.It is a device which has ports and to which we connect the cables of the camera.Which helps to see the footage.

• Monitor.

          It is a device that helps to show the footage recorded by the camera and sent to it through the DVR.

All the CCTV camera works on basically three mechanism:-

• Analog.

         The camera's working on this mechanism captures footage in analog form.The footage can be recorded on direct recording tape.The recording speed is setup like that,3 hours of tape can record 24 hours of movements,That is why the quality of the footage is low.Due to old mechanism,low installation fee and easy installation,it is used in libraries,go-downs and in many small shops.It is also not used for live feed and need an assistant to operate.

• Digital.

          Camera's based on this mechanism capture's footage in digital form and can directly send this to any computer.The footage captured by this camera can also be stored in the online server and can be seen from any where through the help of internet.These camera's captures footage in a very high resolution and hence are used at important places.These camera have a very high installation fee as well a very good technician is required to control these software's.

• Internet protocol camera's.(IP camera's).

         Camera's based on this mechanism are mostly used for surveillance purposes.In these camera's footage can be shared at any time from anywhere through internet.This types of camera's are commonly known as Webcams.It can be used for two way communication.IP camera's are based on wireless network,Wi-Fi or any type of internet connection.Since they are connected to internet there is a lot of chances that these camera's can be easily hacked. The installation fee is quite high and to see high resolution footage online more band with is required.
