SLR stands for single lens reflex.Which means only one lens is used for capturing photos and for viewing in viewfinder.The SLR camera's take photo on a paper roll.SLR's were used earlier they are not used now a days,So there is not so much need to know about it.


Now, What are D SLR's?

D SLR refers to digital single lens reflex.The abbreviation it self shows that this is a digital form of SLR.In SLR only one lens is used for capturing photos and for obtaining image in the viewfinder but in D SLR's there is a sensor behind the lens which captures the image and make it digital.

Usually major difference between D SLR's, SLR's and digital camera;s are the sensor's used in them.
D SLR's and digital camera's both have sensors but the sensors used in D SLR's are 2 to 3 times faster than the sensor used in digital camera's and SLR works on an old mechanism.As digital camera's also have sensor's that is why the picture when captured through digital camera's looks good on small screen but when we see it on a large screen the picture quality deteriorates.

Let's analyze it more deeply.

In.D SLR's tre are APS-C sensor,Full frame sensor which are faster than the sensor's used in digital camera's.So the sensors capture more information,more clarity,more detailing and more lighting. These sensors also give a very good exposure to the image and thus the image looks crystal clear.
That is why D SLR's are more costlier than SLR's and digital camera's.
